This progressive 6 session course will introduce you to all of the next steps of gundog training for your retriever breed. The course sessions are every two weeks so that you have plenty of time to practice each new element before the next session. This helps you really absorb and practice the learning before moving on to the next steps. The course will cover: Heelwork Sit / stay Recall Stop whistle Hunt whistle Steadiness Marked retrieves Memory retrieves Blind retrieves Split retrieves Left, right, and back casts on retrieving. This is the perfect way for you to embed the foundation skills you already have, and progress with your dog. Includes starter pack from Field and Fireside and completion pack from Riverside Animal Supplies. After booking you will receive a Handbook with detailed information about the course including equipment list, location, etc. This is the perfect course for you if: • You have attended the Foundation Gundog Course with us and are ready for the next level. • You want to improve your dogs general obedience level. • You want to have fun with your dog. • You want to learn breed-specific ways to fulfil your dog. • You want to train your dog in a safe, inclusive environment. • You want honest advice and help with your dog. Requirements for the Novice Retriever Gundog Course: Dog age: 6 months plus. Dog training level: dog must have completed the Foundation Gundog Course. Dog must be a retriever breed. Aggression: aggressive / reactive dogs not allowed. Noise: dog should not be noisy (barking / whining) in a group environment. Medical: dogs with injuries / illnesses or those in season should not attend. Client status: recommend training with us before booking.
